Agneepath (Hindi: अग्निपथ; English: Path of Fire) is an upcoming remake of the 1990 Hindi film of the same name. It is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Karan Johar's former assistant Karan Malhotra. Hrithik Roshan will play the role originally played by Amitabh Bachchan.[2] Priyanka Chopra will be the female lead.[3] The character played by Mithun Chakraborty has been totally done away with in the remake. The main villain will be played by Sanjay Dutt[4] and Rishi Kapoor will play another negative character.[5] It has been reported that Zarina Wahab will play Hrithik's mother.[6] Shooting took place in Mumbai's film city and Gujarat's Diu, India.
Synopsis
In a small Indian Village Mandwa, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) is taught about the path of fire (Agneepath) by his principled father. His life is shattered completeley when the evil drug lord Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt) hangs his father to death, Vijay leaves for Bombay with his pregnant mother, and takes an oath that he will return back to Mandwa and bring back the glory of his fathers name and avenge Kancha Cheena.
In Bombay, 12 Year old Vijay is taken under the wings of the cities drug lord Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor). From here on it is a journey of revenge where he makes and breaks many relationships only to get closer to his aim. Vijay finds support in his only friend Kaali (Priyanka Chopra), who stands by him at every moment of his life. Fifteen years later, his hatred for Kancha takes him back to Mandwa.

Design
The first look of Hrithik Roshan's character was revealed on July 5, 2011. Producer Karan Johar posted a link on Twitter to Agneepath's Facebook page, which contained an image of Hrithik as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The first official trailer was launched on August 29, 2011.
Production
Filming started in January 2011. It has been said that this is an adaption of Agneepath which was released in 1990. Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt both undertook a strict exercise regime to gain muscle for the film. The initial release date of the film was November 11, 2011. It was pushed to January 26, 2012. On October 18 it was reported that Hrithik Roshan had injured himself during shooting; the shooting will now be delayed by 15 days. Item Number
Katrina Kaif is doing an item song choreographed by Ganesh Acharya in Agneepath called "Chikni Chameli" which will also feature Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt. The first Promo of chikni chameli was released on 13 December.
Soundtrack
All the songs are composed by the duo Ajay-Atul while lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. "Chikni Chameli" was released separately as a single on Saavn.com[9] The song "Chikni Chameli" is a remake of the Marathi song "Kombdi Palali" from the movie Jatra.
